Ain’t No Mom Jeans is the fashion and lifestyle blog for moms who know motherhood is the coolest job out there and who like to look and feel their best doing it. We cover everyday mom style, as well as stretching a non-maternity wardrobe nine long months, disguising a postpartum pooch, nursing-friendly dresses, fashion-forward comfort shoes and the hottest & most functional baby / kid gear on the market.
What is 'everyday mom style'? Ideally, everyday mom style is something that can stand up to the toddler test: it can be pulled on, easily washed, is something that can be worn whether you are kicking a ball around the park, going down the slide or taking the kiddos out for lunch. It's influenced by trends, but not defined by them. Everyday mom style doesn't make compromises in either the comfort, durability or the style category. Easier said than done? Yup. That's why we started this blog.
Is Ain't No Mom Jeans a budget fashion site? Not really. We are much more concerned with value, rather than cost. We're firm believers in CPW, ie "cost per wear", so we won't hesitate to recommended those fabulous $400 flat boots that you really will wear everyday. However, since having kids our priorities have changed, so we find ourselves looking for lower-cost versions of fun 'of-the-moment' trends.
What if my tastes are different than yours? They probably are! What constitutes "good style" is truly subjective, and very personal. Here at Ain't No Mom Jeans, we strive to give you both style inspiration (of all kinds) as well as easy tips for achieving it. Do companies send you free products? From time-to-time, companies will send us free stuff to test out. However, if it's not news-worthy, we don't blog about it. And even if we do, there's no guarantee that we'll give it a good review. All free or discounted products will be fully disclosed to our readers, and we maintain the highest editorial standards. Ain’t No Mom Jeans is co-authored by Shana, a engineer/fashionista, and Molly, a marcom chick/party girl, turned mommies. We both came to motherhood with no (okay, embarrassingly low) expectations and were fabulously surprised and delighted by every aspect of being moms--except the fashion trade-offs we felt pushed to make.
We love being active, engaged moms and we strive for functionality in our wardrobes, but for us, sacrificing fashion feels like sacrificing our individuality, and we don’t believe that’s good for us, for our kids or for our relationships. We chose the name Ain’t No Mom Jeans because, like the infamous Saturday Night Live skit, “mom jeans” have become emblematic of a woman losing her sense of individual style, femininity and sexuality when she becomes a mother, and we didn’t want to go there as moms or as women.

Shana Draugelis
Shana founded Ain’t No Mom Jeans in 2008 after tossing her old standby fashion magazines aside in frustration. A frustration resulting from a lack of stylish yet mom-friendly outfit ideas. Anyone can throw on a pair of killer heels and a gorgeous (dry-clean only) silky top and look good...but she was more interested in answering the question of "How can moms keep up with the kiddos and still look amazing?" Believing that comfort and style don't have to be mutually exclusive, she started this website as a way to answer the needs of stylish moms frustrated with what felt like limited fashion options. Shana originally hails from Marquette, a tiny little beach town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, has a background in mathematics, a passion for solving problems, is a part-time Engineer, part-time Stylist, and currently resides in Denver Philadelphia's mainline with the loves of her life: her husband and two boys.
Molly Dynan
With a fetish for finding the latest, coolest baby gear and a love of design and fashion, Molly joined Ain’t No Mom Jeans in 2009. A baby-bunching mom of two boys 19 months apart, she found herself making more and more fashion trade-offs as her body has changed on a nearly daily basis for the past three years. Ain’t No Mom Jeans has helped her re-focus her style to meet the needs of her new life with a growing family. A Colorado native with a background in marketing and communications, Molly has also lived in Chicago and New York City, where her love of fashion was born.
