So. I'll show you how I've been styling my old standbys, and so will Cam. And then, dear readers, we want to hear from YOU. With a Half-Tuck and a Patterned Belt
I always end up with a v-neck sweater that is a bit too tight for my liking. Even when I intentionally size up, something goes awry, and I never seem to achieve that cozy, over-sized thing that I was hoping for. All of my v-neck sweaters invariably end up as borderline "boring sweaters". My fav styling trick for these boringish v-necks? Half-tucking them into a pair of flares and saving the ensemble with a cool, patterned belt. My mom bought me this belt for Christmas (along with a Microdermabrasion session making it the Best. Gift. Ever.) Anyway, the belt was on super sale at Kohls...which is kinda the best thing about belts: They are everywhere. For cheap.

To Offset Crazy Legs
A boringish v-neck is a perfect counterpart to all kinds of crazy. My preferred brand of crazy almost always involves denim cut-offs that may or may not be too short for my age.
Hiding the crazy beneath serious looks and v-neck sweaters.
Really, any type of crazy-leggedness would work: patterned denim, voluminous maxis, these insanely awesome flares, too-short skirts with trashy shoes....all of these get nicely offset by a boringish v-neck sweater. (In the very best possible way, of course.) I mean: YES. You could probably find a more fashion forward offset than the humble v-neck. But it wouldn't be nearly as comfortable, and probably isn't already lurking in your closet.
Not that you can really contain the crazy...at least not for long. Eventually...it gets out.

I was inspired this morning to wear my sweater, the weather was perfect for it. Grabbed a scarf at the last minute, because it was a little chilly out this morning, but I like it without better.

Layering a v-neck over a dress shirt is hardly original, I know, but pairing black with black on top and brights on bottom creates a colorblock effect (Crazy Legs?) and looks more interesting than it would paired with regular denim. I'd pair this with flats for a typical day, but I haven't had my pants hemmed yet...And no, my son is not wearing pants.

After a few trial and errors I settled on my V-Neck layered over one of my cowl-neck shirts..insta-infinity scarf? ha! And then I layered a jacket over it. (Surprisingly, I was more concerned about the Leggings-As-Pants I was braving than anything else.)
