I am always on the lookout for cool modern nursery or playroom decor. You know what I am talking about, designs that are kid friendly and whimsical but not babyish or too cutesy. Something that can really help spruce up a room is funky lighting. I searched for months and finally came across the fabulous designs from Maura Daniel.
The thing I love about her products and website is that you can design your own fixture. You pick a base and you pick a shade and you can see a preview of your selection on the website. You can mix and match until your heart is content. And yes, for those of you who prefer there are plenty pre-designed lamps, pendants, chandeliers and sconces to choose from.
For my daughter's room I ended up buying a pendant light with the max geo cotton shade and medium crystal sphere mars pink column picture below. It adds some fabulous modern flair to her room.
For a look that is a little "girlier" check out the pendant clear crystal with pink metal and cream/pink petals and clear fringe shade. Just be careful not to decorate with too many other super girlie accessories or you may end up getting the grandma's attic look. If you are going with the pendant it should be the focal point of the room so keep the rest simple.
And for boy's room check out the small clear resin cars and checkered print shade lamp. How cute it that! Sporty!
